ACTIVITY GUIDE


This activity is designed to start a discussion. It is ideal for a school staff or group of educators and/or parents who are looking for ways to support their local school and/or school district. It is also a great activity for a class of students who are in a teaching program.

Break the group into 5 smaller groups. Each group will take one of the topics listed below to discuss and then make a presentation to the larger group. The presentation will use information from the related materials and will be presented in the form of a proposal for the local school board.

Each group's presentation will be based on the topic that they were assigned. The presentation should include a description of the problem that currently exists within the school or school district and then lay out the proposed solution to the problem. Or, if there isn't a problem, then simply propose a new plan that would add something positive to the local school or district.
